Those are the three main goals of the Chicago Agreement on Climate & Community. They are even more relevant just months after the Katowice Climate Change Conference (COP24) in Poland in December 2018, where attendees tried to button down commitments and progress on climate change action from most nations.

One Earth Film Festival was one of several organizations that pushed for the Chicago Agreement, and dozens more contributed to its creation and launch into the world in December 2017. We want to continue the momentum by sharing it again with you now and offering attendees opportunities to learn about it during Fest Week.

By signing it, you can renew your commitment to a common vision of vibrant communities acting to fight climate change. “Just as the Paris Agreement facilitates collaboration among nations of the world, the Chicago Agreement offers a platform to engage community members and local organizations on practical climate solutions,” according to the Agreement’s preamble.

During the Fest, at most screenings, attendees will have the opportunity to read the agreement and learn how to sign it online. Look for our table.

Read and sign the agreement now.
